Thank you to Mattress Firm and Sleep.com for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’ve officially been a mom (2 times over) for 5 years, 3 months and 22 days, but who’s counting? In that time period, I can count the number of times I’ve gotten a “full night’s” sleep. I am exhausted. And I imagine that a lot of other moms out there are exhausted too. Even when we CAN manage to get a solid 8-hours, it’s just never enough. I know this a stage that I’ll survive, but that doesn’t make sleep deprivation any easier.
Enter Sleep.com.
Sleep.com is an online community powered by the Sleep Experts at Mattress Firm that provides practical tools to help people achieve better sleep. While they likely can’t force my son to sleep in his own bed and through the night, they do have tools that can help me get the best night’s sleep I possibly can.
This Mother’s Day, I’m excited to partner with Mattress Firm and Sleep.com to gift away 3 amazing sleep products to one lucky mama:
- A weighted blanket. This article, on Sleep.com, about the benefits of a weighted blanket was really interesting.
- A TEMPUR Body Pillow.
- The coziest jogger pants.
If you’re reading this, and need a gift to give to a special mother or mother figure in your life, this is also a great article with some excellent ideas for sleep-enhancing gifts. Or you can gift these things to yourself. Those are the best kind of gifts anyway.

My self care journey:
Over the last several months, I’ve really embraced my journey with self care — beyond manicures and a shopping trip (which are also important). But I’ve really looked deeper into what I really NEED to be a good and happy woman, wife and mom. One of those things is a good night’s sleep. So I’ve implemented a few things into my nightly routine that help me, even on a night when my son wakes me up at 3 am.
I’ve been working on my mindfulness practices with the Calm app. It really helps me focus and recenter before bed. This article about sleep affirmations on Sleep.com is also really informative and a great practice.
Practicing mindfulness also helps me reduce my mental load before bed, which is often the culprit of a rough night’s sleep. I’m sure many of you will agree.
Sleep is just one aspect of my self care journey, but I think it might be the most important one. If mindfulness and sleep affirmations aren’t for you, I would encourage you to go to sleep even just 15 minutes earlier for one week, and see how it goes. THAT is self care, and that is exactly what taking care of yourself looks like. I bet you’ll notice a difference.
Make sure to check out all of the articles on Sleep.com for more ways to get the good night’s sleep we’re all praying for! Sweet dreams!
