This post is sponsored by Kellogg’s, but all opinions are my own. As always, thank you so much for supporting the partnerships that keep A Glass of Goldwater up and running!
I don’t know about your house, but mornings around Casa de Goldwater can be a little crazy. The kids wake up suuuuper early (6 am is late!), and I’m always struggling to get everyone, including myself, dressed, fed, and out the door on time.

Can we talk about breakfast for a second? It’s the most important meal of the day, so I try to make it a focus. But it can be SO hard to get my act together to make everyone happy. So when I was introduced to Kellogg’s Happy InsideTM Cereal at Jewel-Osco, it was like a dream.
As a mom, it’s a win for me for a few different reasons! The first being that it’s cereal aka I don’t have to cook anything, LOL. I know you mamas feel me on this. Second, Happy InsideTM Cereal contains 3 digestive friendly ingredients in 1: probiotics, prebiotics, and fiber. The power of 3-in-1 (probiotics + prebiotics + fiber) helps support digestive wellness.
Did I mention that EVERYONE in the family loves this cereal? I don’t usually get so excited about things, but it was actually so delicious and there are no artificial colors or flavors. Houston, I think we have a winner! It comes in 2 yummy flavors (Strawberry and Blueberry), but the Simple Strawberry is definitely my favorite.
But let’s back up for a minute.
6 am: First wakeup call
Miri comes tip-toeing into my room to let me know that it’s time to start the day. I quickly let her know that it is most definitely not time to start my day. So she heads downstairs to play “quietly” (if we’re lucky), and I try to hit snooze until Azi wakes up.
Sometime around 7:30 am: It’s up for the day
Usually by 7:30, we’re all up for the day. So we all head downstairs for breakfast. Since school doesn’t start until 9, we don’t usually get dressed first. Unless Miri is feeling adventurous. Then she’ll magically appear in an outfit of her choice—which will likely not match, but those are my favorite outfits because it’s so darn cute she did it herself. One day last week, she wore her super hero dress-up costume to school. #ChooseYourBattles
I try and feed the kids (and myself, if I’m lucky) when we go downstairs. Thanks to Jewel-Osco and the mobile app, I’m pretty good at staying stocked with different foods for everyone’s tastes. Miri loves yogurt in the morning, so we’ve even been adding a little yogurt to the Happy InsideTM cereal to make a little parfait. It really is perfect for everyone. It’s got a taste that adults and kids both love, and the texture makes it much easier to chew than a lot of other cereals. It’s a win for our whole family.
9 am: Off to school
And I feel like I’ve already run a marathon by then! But once everyone is settled and off to school, then my day re-starts with the rest of the world and I don’t stop working until 11 pm at night! The days are loooong. But the outcome is so worth it.

Mom Hacks for early risers:
- Leave milk or a yogurt pouch on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator to tide them over until you’re ready to wake up.
- Implement an “Ok to wake” clock if you can. It works wonders unless you have a very obstinate child who just doesn’t care. Cough, Miri, cough.
- Talk about ideas with your child of what they can do in the morning to occupy themselves before everyone else wakes up.
- Leave a pile of books next to their bed for them to read.
- Reinforce your rules—if you really want your child to stay in their room until 7, then stick to it!
- When in doubt, go downstairs and pass out on the couch. The world goes on, and you’ll be a better mom for it!

I received sample at a church pantry and didn’t know if I had to cook it or not. Anxious to try it. I love cold cereal.
