My Netflix, Hulu, TV Show recommendations

You asked, and I’m here for you! There are thousands of shows to choose from on Netflix, Hulu and all of the regular stations and in between. It’s hard to choose. So here’s the run down. 

I’m sharing my picks of my all-time fav shows that you can watch on Netflix and/or Hulu. So you can rest assured that whatever shows are listed here, are Alyssa Approved.

Here’s the Appropriate-ness Key: 

* Somewhat moderate language, fairly appropriate

Everyone’s sensitive of different things, so I’m trying to help you out a little bit. I personally would NEVER watch any of these shows with my children, so I’m not rating for that. But that’s just what our family is comfortable with. I watch these shows (mostly) alone. We don’t have a TV, so I watch all of these on my computer. Adam doesn’t like to watch shows at all. So with all that said, happy watching! 

Favorite Netflix Shows:

• Friday Night Lights * – I cried when this was over. One of my all-time favorites
• The Good Wife * – watched with Adam
• The Crown – Netflix Original Series
• Reign * Actually one of my favorite shows of all time. I love the royals and their stories. Highly fictionalized.
• Call the Midwife 
• Gilmore Girls – good binge
• Friends – good binge
• Madam Secretary – watched with Adam
• Hart of Dixie 
• What If * – Netflix Original Series
• Veronica Mars *
• Great British Baking Show
• Zumbo’s Just Desserts
• Grey’s Anatomy – good binge
• Workin’ Moms * – Netflix Original Series
• Designated Survivor * – the last season is a Netflix original, and the foul language is pretty heavy; watched with Adam
• Law and Order: SVU* – good binge
• Parenthood
• Cable Girls
• Spinning Out* – Netflix Original Series
• Cheer – excellent!! Great binge.
• Dead to Me* – Netflix Original Series, excellent binge.
• Northern Rescue – Netflix Original Series
• The Stranger – Netflix Original Series

• Outer Banks – Netflix Original Series, New season just came out!
• Away – Netflix Original Series
• Dynasty – Season 6 starting again soon. Great show.

• Sweet Magnolias – very appropriate and wholesome but super cute. Netflix Original Series
• Yummy Mummies – Obsessed!
• Selling Sunset – Netflix Original Series. OBSESSED!
• Gossip Girl – Just rewatch it from the beginning. Trust me.
• Emily in Paris – It was oooookay. Like a 3/5 But it was cute enough to watch if you’re bored.

• The Queen’s Gambit — excellent!
• Virgin River — super cute and very appropriate

Favorite Netflix Movies:

• Tallulah – Hard to watch, but excellent.

• Wine Country * I was rolling on the floor the entire movie.
• Falling Inn Love
• Holiday in the Wild – LOVED
• Otherhood
• The Kissing Booth 1 and 2 – Netflix Original Movies. So super cute!
• Resort to Love

Hulu Favorites:

• Filthy Rich – I love Kim Catrall. I’m a few episodes in, and I really like it.
• The Path 
• Damages * I only liked the first two seasons.
• Undercover Boss
• Fyre Fraud – Great documentary! So interesting.

Real-Time Shows I watch on Hulu:

• Grey’s Anatomy – not sure why I can’t stop watching. Been there from the start. I was in HIGH SCHOOL. 10+ years ago!
• New Amsterdam
• This Is Us
• Law and Order: SVU
• A Million Little Things – LOVE

Shows I watch NOT on Hulu or Netflix:

• Very Cavallari – OBSESSED. I watch with an Xfinity account on Eonline.
• Sister Wives – I can’t stop watching. I’m very enthralled with this. Watch on tlc.com.
