I don’t know about you, but my hands are in a perpetual state of dryness. As a mom, I’m constantly wiping someone’s butt and that requires TONS of hand washing. And it’s 10x worse in the winter. I also worry about my little guys and their sensitive skin. Basically, the cold is nice to NO ONE.
If we had a different product for every person’s needs in the house, we’d have about 1 million lotions, 2 million body washes, and 500,000 shampoos and conditioners lying around. Basically, I’m saying that my house would be even more chaotic than it already is—and ain’t nobody got time for that!
So when I realized that the Johnson’s® Baby Lotion I have for my kids can also work great for my hands, I instantly felt all 5 million bottles of toiletries that were accumulating in my house melt away.
So, how do I stay on top of dry skin?
Now that I’ve found a lotion that works for the whole family, I keep a bottle of it in each of the kids’ rooms and one bottle downstairs. I know that the skin products I have around the house are safe for everyone. Johnson’s® Baby Lotion is 100% gentle and free of dyes, parabens, and phthalates, so not only is it safe for my kiddos but it’s also safe for everyone around them.
So after I give the kids a bath, they get a full body rub down and so do my hands. After dishes? We have Johnson’s® Baby Lotion right by the kitchen sink. Probably the biggest reason I chose to use JOHNSON’S® for my entire family is that it doesn’t leave that slimy residue that so many lotions can leave. So I know it’s helping my dry skin and overworked hands, but my workday won’t be impaired or slowed down.
I’ve always enjoyed that special lotion time after the kids’ baths, and now they expect it. Nighttime routines are so important for developing good sleep habits, and incorporating JOHNSON’S® into ours has been a great addition. The fresh and nostalgic smell is lovely to have all over our upstairs every evening. And I know that, even when I’ve neglected my dry skin all day, I have an opportunity to care for them at the same time I’m caring for my kids.
Some other tips to keep skin soft in Winter?
- Wear gloves!
- Use cold water for hand washing! I’ve found that hot water dries my skin out MORE.
- Keep travel size bottles of lotion in your car, diaper bag and purse to remind you to moisturize throughout the day.
- We also run humidifiers in the kids’ rooms each night. I find that it actually helps keep the air in the rooms from getting too dry.
Winter’s tough, man. But I see spring on the horizon, and I know we’re covered until then.
