It’s that time of year…time to make grocery shopping even more fun! And that can only mean one thing: it’s time to play The SHOP, PLAY, WIN!® Collect & Win Game featuring MONOPOLY.
I play at my local Jewel-Osco, but you can Shop, Play, Win! at any of the Albertsons Companies stores like Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, Carrs/Safeway, United Supermarkets, Amigos, Albertsons Market and Market Street stores.
I love grocery shopping this time of year because the MONOPOLY Collect & Win game just makes grocery shopping seem like even more of a purposeful activity.
We do most of our grocery shopping at Jewel-Osco, and most of the products we would normally buy are participating products for the MONOPOLY Collect & Win game. Our local Jewel-Osco has a huge kosher section, which makes shopping for everything we need super easy and pretty much one-stop.
If you don’t know how The SHOP, PLAY, WIN!® Collect & Win Game featuring MONOPOLY works, here’s a quick rundown:
- Buy participating products at your local store.
- Get game pieces/tickets when you check out.
- Put them on your MONOPOLY Collect & Win game board that you can pick up at your grocery store.
- If your tickets have special online codes, you can scan them with the Shop, Play, Win App (which is awesome and time saving) or enter them on the website.
- Win lots of prizes! Ranging from a free bagel all the way to a million-dollar vacation home! Dream big, amiright?!
I am excited for the chance to win gift cards to Jewel-Osco this year! That will seriously help us with our grocery budget. Plus, I almost never win anything so it would be a big boost to my ego.
My husband and I love to pool all of our game pieces and put them on the board once a week. Then, we go through and enter our codes together. It turns the whole thing into a really fun family activity.
4 #MomHacks to make grocery shopping enjoyable again:
- Make a list! I can’t stress this enough. It’ll help you stay on track as far as time and, more importantly, money. If you promise to stick to your list, you are much less likely to throw random things you don’t actually need into your cart.
- If you can help it, don’t go on a Sunday. Seriously, it’s the worst time to shop because the entire rest of the world is also shopping. I find Tuesday afternoons/evenings and Thursday mornings to be good times.
- If you’ve got kids in tow, turn it into a game. I spy with different colors, letters and snacks that they recognize may help everyone get through the store with smiles instead of tears.
- Enlist the help of your tiny (but mighty) army. Have whoever’s in the cart hold some of the grocery items. It helps them feel important and helps keep them occupied as you try to zip through the aisles praying they don’t notice the chips/candy/pudding/soda/cookies that are all around them!
Do you have any tips for grocery shopping with kids? I’d love to hear yours! Leave them in the comments below!
And don’t forget to SHOP, PLAY, WIN!® with Monopoly. You never know what you’re going to win!
