In the midst of dealing with some “stuff”, I’ve been trying to see the good in things. And taking note of a Mom Win is the perfect way to do that! Even at the bottom of your darkest day as a wife, mother, and woman-extraordinaire, let’s work to remember that we’re KILLING IT. And we have to celebrate that! And this is how Mom Wins came to be.
I lost 6+ lb. in January!
Why is this such a big deal? Because January is Birthday Season in our house. Both of my kids’ birthdays are this month, so we had a total of 6 birthday parties in the first 2.5 weeks of January, and I STILL managed to lose 6 lb. — And I’m still going strong because the month isn’t over yet!
I won’t lie. This month has been HARD. It’s hard to manage birthdays with kids — see my monthly Parenting Problems post — and I normally would have eaten my way through these parties. I mean, there was a lot of cake. But I focused on my overall goal, I allowed myself to have some cake, and I still managed to come out on top!
And this, my friends, is what I call a Mom Win. It doesn’t have to be something big. It can be as small as “drinking your coffee while it’s still hot”, although some of us would definitely consider that a BIG win.
