Seasons change, and as if it isn’t hard enough to deal with the end of summer and warm weather, the start of indoor allergies can be a real pain.
Thankfully, I’ve discovered Children’s Claritin® Chewables 24-hour and Filtrete™ Room Air Purifier. The Filtrete Room Air Purifier added an additional layer of comfort helping capture dust and other indoor allergens we might not even have known about.
Why’s it the best?
Claritin is the #1 pediatrician recommended, non-drowsy oral allergy brand. And what’s even better is that I use the Claritin® Liqui-Gels® Capsules 24-Hour for adults too. I use it to help with some of my worst allergy symptoms — itchy eyes and runny nose. We’re just a Claritin family — it really works for all of us! I also do grocery pickup from Walmart, so I don’t even have to leave my car to get everything we need.
I wanted to make our entire home environment was better for all of us allergy sufferers. Some of these things can be easily forgotten, so here’s a little checklist for you.
My tips for getting ready for Winter:
- Change the filters in your HVAC unit. We use Filtrete™ Advanced Allergen Furnace Filters because it helps capture small particles that other filters can’t. We change ours 2x a year. Keep a calendar reminder so you don’t forget!
- Add humidifiers and air purifiers to your daily/nightly routine. I just got the Filtrete™ Room Air Purifier for Miri’s room. When paired with a Filtrete™ True Hepa replacement filter it captures 99.97% of airborne particles (as small as 0.3 microns from the air passing through the filter media. Initial efficiency value).
- Clean your gutters. After the final leaves fall, make sure to clean your gutters! Gutter overflow can cause leaks, which nobody wants!
- Turn off your outside water source. Frozen/burst pipes are such a buzzkill.
- Make sure all windows are closed tight and locked. Air can get in if they aren’t and your house will be cold / your heating bill will sky rocket.
- Be prepared for winter weather with sidewalk salt, shovels and car snow brushes!
- Stay warm! Spring will be here sooner than we know it.
How else do you prepare for winter? I’d love to know, and add to my list. Let me know in the comments! XO
